Excited by his new position as a Pony Express rider, 16-year-old Jack Bailey of Rainbow Ridge, Colorado, has no idea of a coming danger that will fall upon him and his community. Their trial comes in the summer of 1890 when Jack is tasked with receiving and delivering a very important document – a deed to a motherlode gold mine.Others know the document’s worth and await an opportunity to steal it once in Jack’s possession. Outnumbered and constantly eluding the deed’s pursuers, Jack must make frequent and dangerous night trips across the Rocky mountains, knowing he is under continual surveillance. He worries about his friend, Jennie, the postmistress at Golden Crossing, fearing she too will get caught up in the middle of this deadly cat and mouse game. When Jack is drugged and his mail is stolen, will he rise up and rally the community? Will Jack finally prove that he is a man worthy of the title Pony Express Rider?
